Given recent concerns of data collection by software companies, including Kaspersky, I usually turn off the Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) service in corresponding installations. Here are the steps for disabling Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) in Kaspersky Small Office Security. The same feature can be found in other versions of the software and accessed in a similar fashion.
Step 1 - Access Kaspersky settings from the status icon or by opening the application from the Desktop icon or program groups.
Click on the status hidden icons on the lower right of your Windows screen.
Right click on the Kaspersky icon to get the menu, and then click on Settings.
Alternately, if you opened the application, instead of using the status icon, you can select settings by using the icon on the bottom left of the Kaspersky Dialog window.
Step 2 - Select Additional Settings
Click on the Additional option on the left navigation menu.
Step 3 - Select Additional Protection and Management Tools
Step 4 - Disable Kaspersky Security Network
